Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, which is used to prevent the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message is sent from one email, but to seem as being sent from another one, ordinarily with the idea to fraud the recipient for some reason. If SPF protection is activated for a domain name, an exclusive record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers worldwide have it. The record contains all e-mail servers that are allowed to send authentic messages from an address under the domain. When a message is sent, the very first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and if its sending server is permitted, the message is forwarded to the target destination. If, however, the sending server is not contained in the SPF record for the particular domain, the message will not be submitted and it'll be removed. In case you use this service, it will stop third parties from sending spam messages that appear to have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Shared Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for any domain hosted in a shared hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with just a couple of clicks. The option can be found in the Emails section of our hi-tech Hepsia Control Panel and all you need to activate it is to select one of your domain names from a drop-down menu and to enter the hostnames together with the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers that will be certified to send messages from your email addresses. As an added option you can even restrict the e-mails to be sent from your domain only if it has our MX records, in other words if our servers handle the emails for it, not a third-party provider. This feature provides you with the highest degree of protection, but it is not applicable when only your website is on our servers while the e-mail addresses for the domain are handled in a different place. Either way, our SPF protection service will keep your email addresses safe from being used for spam and/or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The SPF protection function is available with all the Linux semi-dedicated hosting packages, so if you host your domain names in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you can activate the service with ease for all your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated accounts, features a really intuitive interface, therefore you don't need to be tech-savvy to secure your e-mails. You'll simply have to type the hostname and the IP of each mail server that you would like to be allowed to send out emails from your addresses and right after that the new record will be activated for the domain name that you have picked. As a further option, we will also give you the ability to limit your outgoing e-mail messages and protect your mailboxes even further by allowing e-mail messages to be sent only if the domain name involved features our MX records i.e. the email messages for the domain name should be managed here and not by a different provider. By doing this you will have even better control and there will not be any chances for somebody to forge your email addresses for harmful uses.
